Kate Middleton Dazzles In The Royal Family’s New Portrait

Kate Middleton is adding a bit more sparkle and shine to her evening look.

As the Duchess of Cambridge arrived for the annual evening reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps at Buckingham Palace, fans may have first laid eyes on her stunning Jenny Packham gown.

And yes, she absolutely recycled the look after wearing it at a China State Dinner.

But what really turned people’s heads for the right reasons was the tiara shining bright in photos.

E! News has learned the accessory was the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, one of the most well-known tiaras in Princess Diana’s collection.
Not to be outdone, the men in this family portrait may just give a reason for royal watchers to chat about fashion. While posing for the camera, Prince Phillip, Prince William and Prince Charles also matched in blue sashes and knee-high socks with garters.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge join The Queen and the Royal Family as they welcome the world’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners from the UK’s diplomatic community to Buckingham Palace for the annual Diplomatic Reception,” the palace shared on Instagram.

Queen Elizabeth II (and her signature purse) and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were also featured in the photo.
While there’s no question that Kate has taken more than a few style cues from Prince William’s late mother, there is one striking difference between the pair.

As it turns out, their respective approaches to fame couldn’t have been more different.
“Diana was more interested in that high-voltage celebrity, that was something she really embraced. One of the things I’ve learned in this job is how much celebrity is a decision,” Alexandra Shulman, editor in chief of British Vogue, said in an in-depth interview with ES Magazine. “The Duchess of Cambridge is prepared to do her bit, but it’s not one of the things that she most cares about,”

“She loves her kids and the countryside. Dressing up, that’s a professional side to her,” Alexandra explained. “It’s a sort of uniform, all those lovely couture costumes.”
