D’Banj and Don Jazzy
Singer and song writer, Dapo Oyebanjo better known as D’Banj and music producer, Michael Collins Ajereh have buried the hatchet they had for over twelve years.
D’Banj and Don Jazzy dominated the Nigerian music scene from 2004 till now. They founded Mo Hit Records in 2004 and had artistes such as D’Banj, Wande Cole. K-Switch, D’Prince and Dr Sid. The label attracted foreign rappers like Snoop Dogg, Kanye West and Jay Z.
In 2012, D’Banj and Don Jazzy had a rift which caused the latter to leave Mo Hit Records and got signed to Good Music label owned by Kanye West.
Consequently, Don Jazzy established another record label known as Mavin Records and took along with him, D’ Prince, Dr. Sid and Wande Coal. As time passed by, Jazzy signed Korede Bello, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, DNA Twins, Crayon, Aura Starr, Rema, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, and Lifesize Teddy. It also houses producers such as Don Jazzy himself, Altims, London, Baby Fresh, and Andre Vibez.
Shortly after D’Banj let Good Music, he established DB Records. The artistes under the label are D’Banj himself, his younger brother, K-Switch, brothers Moss Kriss and Ralph Kriss and actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh.
The duo recently reconciled after twelve years apart. In a video that made rounds on social media, D’Banj and Don Jazzy exchanged plesantries. It is worth noting that the video served as promotion for Dbanj’s latest single, ‘Since 04,’ where the lyrics pay homage to the now-defunct Mo’ Hits Records.
Yinka Quadri and Taiwo Hassan
Nollywood veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Taiwo Hassan better known as Ogogo buried their hatchet after years-long rift.
The duo made up during the housewarming and birthday party of their junior colleague, Yomi Fabiyi.
According to the video that made rounds on social media, chanter, Sulaiman Ajobiewe urged the actors to bury the hatchet regardless of who was at fault. Following this, they hugged each other.
Wumi Toriola and Habitat Jinad
Nollywood actresses Wumi Toriola and Habitat Jinad have buried their hatchet after five years of being apart without any specific reasons.
In a surprising post on her Instagram page on 3rd of May, Wumi Toriola shared a beautiful picture of Habibat Jinad and pondered on the reasons they stopped interacting for five years.
Wumi disclosed that she recently started following Habibat on Instagram and found herself irresistibly drawn to her and opted to send a private message.
The mother of one celebrated her decision to reconcile and advocated for love to prevail.
Reacting, Habibat expressed joy over their reconciliation, attributing it to answered prayers for peace, particularly for her upcoming 40th birthday celebration.
Caroline Danjuma and Toyin Lawani
Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Caroline Danjuma and celebrity stylist and designer Toyin Lawani of Tiannah Empire have buried their hatchet a year after their public spat.
In 2022, Toyin Lawani publicly called out Caroline for wrecking her marriage to her first husband, Aremo.
The mother of three accused Caroline of sleeping with her ex-husband and claimed she (Caroline) was the reason she was thrown out of her matrimonial house and beaten to a pulp.
In defence, Caroline denied ruining Toyin’s marriage. She wondered how the stylist could claim her ex-husband, Musa Danjuma caught her with young boys yet he was married to her, Caroline from 2009 to 2011.
On 30th March 2024, Caroline took to her Instagram page to apologise to Toyin and acknowledged the healing power of time. Reflecting on their past conflict, she likened it to two powerful lionesses fighting, with the grass suffering as a result.
Caroline further reflected on how life brings profound experiences, emphasizing the lessons learned during moments of conflict. She highlighted the importance of remaining calm, listening, praying, and engaging in dialogue with the person with whom one disagrees. She shared that it took going through a rough patch to realize and cherish the beauty of simply being alive.
Reacting, Toyin recalled how Caroline reached out to her during a difficult time when she lost her pregnancy and was healing while they were still in conflict. She commended Caroline for her maturity, highlighting that true friendships endure rough patches and always find their way back to each other.
Basketmouth and AY Makun
Award-winning Nigerian comedians, Bright Okpocha better known as Basketmouth Ayo Makun better known as AY Makun buried their years long hatchet over an alleged debt.
AY, in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, claimed that their beef originated over thirty thousand naira debt, which Basketmouth refused to pay him. Consequently, the beef extended to some of their colleagues such as Julius Agwu, Bovi amongst others and as such his name was struck from some events.
However, Basketmouth refuted AY’s claims, asserting that they have never been friends.
In another interview with Teju Babyface, AY stated that he attempted to reconcile with Basketmouth and Julius Agwu but failed.
He stated that if he goes to his grave without reconciling with them, he would be happy as he knows he tried his best.
In October 2023, in a shocking turn of event, Basketmouth tendered a deep apology AY Makun.
He apologized for everything he had done or said that had affected him as he called for them to live in peace and harmony.
He also issued an apology to anyone in the industry who may have been offended knowingly or unknowingly by his actions over time.
Basketmouth also extended apologies to those who have accused him of actions that they believe may have adversely affected their careers.
A few days ago, fans got a gimpse of an accepted apology from Aay after he publicly celebrated Basketmouth’s son on his 16th birthday.
Juliana Olayode and Funke Akindele
Nollywood actresses Juliana Olayode better known as Toyo Baby and Funke ‘Jenifa’ Akindele delighted the hearts of many after they buried their hatchet of six years.
In 2017, the two fell apart for undisclosed reasons after Juliana starred in Funke Akindele’s hit series, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’.
Juliana Olayode shared a lengthy note on her Instagram about how she became famous overnight by starring in Jenifa’s Diary. She said that God used Funke to make her famous, but she felt overwhelmed by the sudden fame.
She mentioned that she started to struggle because she didn’t understand how the entertainment industry worked, and her manager didn’t help either. Her manager even sent an email to Funke Akindele’s production company behind her back, causing problems between them.
Juliana apologized to Funke privately, and they made up. But she wanted to apologize publicly too.
Reacting, Funke took to Juliana’s comment section to express how much she misses her and holds no grudges against her.
Well, Anonymous sources disclosed the alleged source of rift between the two.
It is alleged that Funke removed Juliana from Jenifa’s Diary series over what the latter termed ‘bad pay’.
The source revealed that Juliana was cut off from the popular TV series for requesting an increment in pay which didn’t sit well with Funke who felt she was an ingrate considering that the former rose to stardom through her appearances on the series.
Meanwhile, sources close to SceneOneProductions, producers of Jenifa’s Diary, further disclosed that the producer of the show, Funke via her production manager and younger sister – Abimbola – pays actors between three thousand naira (₦3,000) and one hundred ans fifty thousand naira (₦150,000) (per episode/season of the show) depending on the role.
Anita Joseph and Uche Elendu
Nollywood actresses, Anita Joseph and Uche Elendu made up and buried their hatchet three years after their messy fight.
In 2019, the best friends fell out after Anita called out Uche on social media. She alleged that Uche who sells hair products was angry at her for modelling the hair of another brand.
Apparently, the duo used to be friends until Anita landed a partnership deal with a hair company.
In the video, Anita addressed Uche as a witch who wanted her to remain broke, she recounted how she patronized Uche’s hair products several times despite not benefiting from her as her customer.
Re-tracing her steps. Anita took to her Instagram page hours before part of the world entered into the year 2023 to apologize to Uche Elendu. She apologised to for accusing her of practising witchcraft.
She noted that she regretted her actions and missed their friendship.
Reacting, Uche Elendu took to her comment section to send New Year greetings to her.
Nkechi Blessing and Opeyemi Falegan
Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday and her ex-boyfriend, Opeyemi Falegan decide to move past their grudges after their relationship collapsed.
Following the end of their relationship, the ex-lovers whom many noted that they have a striking resemblance and perfect match to be husband and wife took to social media to wash their dirty linens and went as far as using their new found lovers to taunt each other.
A few months after, Opeyemi tendered an apology to Nkechi for everything that had happened between them.
He admitted he had messed up stating it hurts so much for a person to separate from their lover whom they had publicly flaunted and showered love.
The Ekiti state politician said Nkechi shouldn’t be angry with him and would have knelt before her if he had the opportunity to do so. He added that he wanted to move on but didn’t do it in the best possible manner and he is very sorry for everything.
Reacting at first, Nkechi stated that Opeyemi was only trying to use her to stay relevant.
The mother of one added that she hopes he stops using her for clout and starts doing something meaningful.
On second thought, she simply stated that his apology has been accepted but access denied.
PSquare
Music duo, Peter and Paul Okoye better known as PSquare sent happiness and satisfaction through the hearts of their families, colleagues and fans after they buried the hatchet between them after six years.
The twin brothers broke up their group P-Square in 2017 to pursue solo music careers behind their pseudonyms RudeBoy (Paul) and Mr. P. (Peter).
They reconciled in November 2021. In an interview after they reconciled, Paul disclosed that the misunderstanding between them was not music related but caused by family issues.
