Video: Tobi Amusan Visits Her Alma Mater, Donates One Million Naira

World Athletics & Commonwealth 100M hurdles champion, Tobi Amusan who is currently in Nigeria paid a visit to her alma mater, Our Lady Of Apostles Secondary school in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

In a reel shared on Instagram on Friday, 23rd September, the 25-year-old could be seen walking into the school as students formed a guard of honour right from the school’s gate to welcome her.

The ever cheerful hurdler smiled and waived in appreciation to the students and everyone present to welcome her as she walked with security men and protocol officers.

As a lady who has not discarded the childhood training instilled in her, she was also seen greeting her teachers respectfully as the students of the school sang and cheered her on.

Amusan who became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold following her win in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon on Sunday, 17th July 2022 donated the sum of one million Naira towards the development of her alma mater. See the video below,

Meanwhile, President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) honoured Amusan and other Nigerian medalists at various international games, including the Commonwealth Games, for their outstanding performances. They were gifted N200 million.

President Buhari also conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on Amusan for achieving a remarkable feat and flying the Nigerian flag high.
