Tobi Amusan, a holder of numerous world records, recently completed her best track and field season and has now arrived in Nigeria.
On Tuesday afternoon, the gold medalist arrived in Lagos and was welcomed with open arms.
Sports fans and Amusan supporters showed up in large numbers to give her a well-deserved welcome home.
Amusan travelled to Nigeria in a pair of green pants and a black sleeveless top.
Glamsquad Magazine had reported that Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw sent her congratulation to Tobi Amusan for winning the 100m hurdles gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Nigerians have been extremely complimentary of Tobi Amusan, who won the Commonwealth Games with a time of 12.30 seconds.
Actress Kate Henshaw is one of many who have congratulated her.
Kate Henshaw congratulated the 25-year-old competitor on Twitter on Sunday and stated that the competitor is breaking down all barriers and would continue to succeed in spite of everything. It states:
“All is SHE DOES is win win win NO MATTER WHAT!!Tobi Amusan. Ripping through..Tearing down every barrier.”
Nigerian singer Paul Play, among other Nigerians, took to Instagram on Monday morning, July 25 to applaud Amusan on the feat and chastise Nigerian leaders for their “failure”. He wrote:
“Tobi Amusan thanks for making us proud again.”
“I am African, I’m proud, feel no shame or stress to say it loud !!! As our failure-infested leaders, keep letting us down. Let the athletes, musicians, actors, academicians, activists, and entertainers keep lifting us up. We won’t stop.”
