Tobi Amusan Finishes Second In Lausanne Diamond League

Camacho-Quinn defeated Tobi Amusan in the women’s 100m Hurdles at the Diamond League, setting a new Meeting Record of 12.34 seconds (-0.9), glamsquad reports.

Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s champion sprinter, won silver at the ongoing Diamond League Meet on Friday night after breaking through at this year’s World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States.

 

Still stinging from her record-breaking Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham earlier in August, Amusan hoped to continue her outstanding performance, but she was denied by 2020 Tokyo Olympics winner Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico.

Camacho-Quinn defeated Tobi Amusan in the women’s 100m Hurdles at the Diamond League, setting a new Meeting Record of 12.34 seconds (-0.9).

 

Amusan finished second in 12.45s and qualified for Zurich, while Tia Jones of the United States finished third in a new Personal Best of 12.47s.

The Diamond League is a yearly series of elite track and field athletics competitions that includes 14 of the best invitational athletics meetings.

 

The series is ranked first in the World Athletics one-day meeting competitions.
