Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwajuwonlo Iledare better known as Jaywon has criticized his younger colleagues, Burna Boy and Odumodublvck, for their belief that nobody paved the way for them in the music industry.

During an interview with Teju Babyface, Jaywon described it as madness for an artist to make such a statement, highlighting how someone paved the way for other artists in the industry.

He challenged those who argue that being inspired by someone is different from someone opening doors for you, questioning how people could learn from others if someone didn’t pave the way first.

Jaywon called Burna Boy’s statement crazy, comparing it to someone saying they weren’t inspired by anyone in the industry while they were growing up.

“Burna is the same thing, talented, and everything. It’s like Burna saying no one paved the way for him. How do you say that? It’s a very wrong thing to say. It is madness, it’s like saying when you were little till no one inspired you.

People will say someone inspired you, is different from someone opening doors for you. Tell me, if someone didn’t do it first, where did people from behind learn it from”.

Elsewhere in the interview, he slammed Odumodublvck for also saying no one paved the way for him as he questioned how he would feel if an upcoming artiste from Abuja said he never paved the way for them.

“I love Odumodublvck even if his music is not all that. How will Odumodublvck feel if an artiste blows up from Abuja and says Odumodu didn’t pave the way for him”.

Recall that a week ago, Eedris criticized Burna Boy for saying his senior colleagues didn’t help him succeed. He also tagged Burna Boy’s statement as foolish, which generated a heated argument on social media.

In response to their argument, Odumodublvck said Wizkid, Burna Boy, and others made it to the top because of their hard work, not because anyone helped them.

He believes that while someone can inspire you, success ultimately comes from God, not from others paving the way for you.

Odumodublvck emphasized that throughout music history, no person has paved the way for him; he attributes his success solely to God. He further stated that nobody should claim credit in the future for paving the way for him.
