Gloden Globe award winner Common in an interview on a popular TV show by  the host Meredith Vieira talked his break up with Serena Williams, his success and personal life.

He said“Yeah, yeah it was kind of eventually a mutual breakup but she initiated it. It’s okay though, for me we’ve got a great understanding and I care about her as a person. I think most of the people that I’ve dealt with in my adult life, the woman I have dealt with I care about so we can keep that friendship. It’s not like every person you talk to every other day but you still have that respect and you have love for them and want to see them do well.”

“I don’t really use the word snub. That’s not a word I ever used before. I have to say that we are grateful that Selma has been nominated for best picture and we are grateful we have been nominated for best original song. Of course I was disappointed, I wanted Ava DuVernay and David Oyelowo and everybody to receive their nominations but we also understand this movie was about voting right, and the voting process, and if that didn’t happen this time we’ve got to respect that they weren’t voted to be nominated this time, but hopefully they will in the future. The impact the movie is having is something to be celebrated when you know people have bought tickets for junior high school students, across country the country this has been happening, for students to go attend this movie. Wealthy people said we are going to gather our money so we make sure students see this movie and churches black and white have taken their congregations…that’s impact you want to have. I’m just grateful to be a part of it.”
