Ogunwusi, in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ile-Ife by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, described Adeleke’s victory as “confirmation of Adeleke’s grassroots popularity.”

He urged the governor-elect to bring everyone on board and focus on his plans to deliver democracy’s dividends to the people of the state.

“Mr Governor-Elect comes from a noble family and a strong political dynasty in the State, and he must not be misled by the hypocrisy and sycophancy of some arrogant political lieutenants,” he advised.

Ooni also praised Gov. Gboyega Oyetola for his peaceful demeanor before, during, and after the election.

He described Oyetola as a “perfect gentleman of peace” who kept his promise at the National Peace Committee’s peace accord meeting in Osogbo a few days before the election.

“Oyetola signed the peace agreement alongside 12 other contestants and promised to conduct himself peacefully before, during, and after the election in the character of a gentleman and a simple leader in all ramifications,” he said.

The traditional ruler also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for remaining impartial during the election.

“The virtuous ethos of Omoluabi displayed across the State by the Osun electorate was critical to the success and smoothness of the voting process.”

“They truly are the unsung heroes of that election day,” he added.
