These accents framed outfits that, more often than not, but not always, were focused on a low-hemmed shirt or a skirt that hit mid-thigh. Around this central point, cascading layers of reinvented classics were added.
These included riveted skirts made of workwear cotton duck, a waistcoat and sweater made of goose feathers by the atelier, heavily-reconstructed camouflage pants, a faux python jumpsuit (one of many), worn bottom half only so that the top served as a skirt at the back, a cropped leopard hoodie zip-up, and a pair of garment-d These were echoed by two further suits that were constructed more conventionally than the openers but whose seams were bristling with untied threads, as if pulled at by nagging hands eager to pull them apart into something new.
Oversized classic outerwear that was a Pitti-level standout in and of itself frequently, but not always, matched the ensembles. A long leather chore jacket that Williams referred to as a “Bouncer,” leather double-knee work pants, and an unfussily basic waistcoat made up outfit 32, which could be seen as the model for workwear-inspired “formal dress,” in the midst of all this activity. Its streetwear equivalent was the all-marl gray style.
