Bernard Hill, a veteran British actor best remembered for his appearances in ‘Titanic’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’, died at the age of 79.
His agent, Lou Coulson, confirmed the news, stating that Hill died on Sunday morning in front of his fiancée Alison and son Gabriel.
Hill gained to prominence after appearing in the 1982 BBC TV drama ‘Boys from the Blackstuff’.
He garnered global notoriety for his depictions as Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning film ‘Titanic’ and King Théoden in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
