Drake loses £478,000 bet as Anthony Joshua knocks out Ngannou

Canadian singer, Aubrey Drake Graham, known mononymously as Drake has lost a £478,000 bet on Francis Ngannou defeating Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight boxing bout in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Drake was poised to receive a substantial payday exceeding £1 million.

However, in the opening round, Joshua landed a powerful right hand that sent Ngannou to the canvas. Following that, he knocked down the former UFC heavyweight champion twice more in the next round. The second knockdown left Ngannou unconscious, resulting in a definitive victory for Joshua.

The outcome sees Drake’s losing streak in combat sports continue.

In January, Drake incurred a loss exceeding half-a-million pounds after betting on Sean Strickland to successfully defend his UFC middleweight championship against Dricus Du Plessis.

The 37-year-old additionally suffered a loss of £430,000 when Israel Adesanya faced an unexpected defeat against Strickland in the octagon. Prior to that, he had wagered £700,000 on Logan Paul emerging victorious over Dillon Danis in the boxing ring.
