The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas has confirmed the passing of actor, Junior Pope.
Taking to his Instagram page, Emeka expressed sadness over the death of Junior Pope as he noted how their joy was short-lived. He said his first post came from excitement when he felt his fingers tingle. Sadly, despite efforts from two hospitals, they couldn’t revive him.
Acknowledging that God knows best, he confirmed the actor’s passing and provided an update on the other crew members, whose bodies are still missing.
He wrote,
“It’s so sad that our joy was short-lived.
My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him. Mr Friday’s corpse has been identified but three other corpses are yet to be found”.
Glamquad reported that it was a black Wednesday for the movie industry after beloved actor Junior Pope passed away.
The talented star reportedly drowned while returning from a movie shoot with his colleagues on a boat in Anam River, Anambra State. Before his untimely demise, Junior Pope shared a video of himself on the boat, fervently praying for a safe journey.
This incident occurred on April 10th, during their return from the location. Despite initial reports of his survival, it was later revealed that Junior Pope had passed away. He had undergone cleansing at the Water Shrine and received medical attention, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries after a prolonged battle for his life.
