"2024 will be a tough year for Afrobeats" - Paulo Okoye

Nigerian show promoter, Paul Okoye better known as Paulo has expressed concern for Afrobeats artists.

Taking to his Instagram page, Pauloo envisioned that 2024 would be a challenging year except for Burna Boy and Davido, who have made significant impact by hosting a few successful concerts.

The talent manager noted that the high cost of tickets is the main reason behind the upcoming tough times for other Afrobeat singers. He cautioned them against following in the footsteps of reggae musicians who struggled and eventually faded away.

He wrote;

“2024 will be tough year for Afrobeat!!! Apart from 2 artists this year (Burnaboy and Davido) They did few shows others are in trouble either they over priced or tickets are not selling hmmm. Let us not do what happened to Reggae musicians reduce your prices just think. How many shows you did this year.

“Tough time for Afrobeat (A & B & C class) Artist Price themselves out of the market. No much shows + global economy is not laughing as well. God help us. Paulo.”
