The twin musical duo claimed to have dominated the Nigerian and African music scenes for nearly 14 years until abruptly disbanding in 2016, allowing others to shine.

P-Square was recently featured on an episode of The 77 Podcast.

Peter responded to suggestions that afrobeats achieved global notoriety while they were away by saying, “Says who? That was never said.”

“Let me tell you something, I’ve been hearing that,” Paul continued. Even if they frame it that way, it implies that God has his own way of doing things. If we had been there [in the music industry] collectively, those folks [dominant music stars] would never have seen the light. And don’t forget that we’ve long dominated the [Nigerian] music industry. We were there for nearly 13,14 years.”
