Seyi Law Backs Tinubu In The 2023 Election

Nigerian comedian and actor Seyi Law has expressed support for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC)  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the 2023 presidential election edges closer.

Seyi Law made his support for the former Lagos State governor public through an Instagram post on Saturday, January 4, 2023.

Because of his achievements as governor of Lagos State, the comedian said he would support Tinubu over Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

“We can pretend, refuse to accept it, and even deny it, but what Tinubu did to rebuild Lagos after the military era can never be overstated. You can use other metrics I don’t know to judge him, but to deny his works in Lagos as governor and the continuity is plain hatred,’’ the comedian said.

He would go on to note that he was not paid to support Tinubu, insisting that he has never supported any political candidate for personal motives.

He said:

“If I was paid to campaign for ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, let God judge me. I have always maintained my stance that I will never receive money to campaign for any politician and that I have always kept. This coming election, BAT is my candidate.”

The Nigerian presidential election is scheduled to hold on February 25, 2023, and Tinubu is one of the major candidates expected to assume office as president after the democratic exercise.

It will be recalled that Seyi Law in 2015 urged Nigerians to vote for then-sitting President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, but the majority of the country opted for current President Muhammadu Buhari, whose tenure has brought untold hardship to Nigeria.

The 2023 election is crucial as Nigeria needs a candidate to tackle several challenges confronting the country, such as insecurity, a poor economy, health, education, and more.
