Jennifer Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney may split their time between New York and Los Angeles, but if J-Law’s current wardrobe proves anything, it’s that she’s a true Upper East Sider. In recent months, she has positioned herself as one of Manhattan’s resident cool girls alongside Zoë Kravitz and the Olsen twins.
While running errands on 4 February, Lawrence bundled up against the winter chill wearing a caramel-coloured Max Mara coat. She paired the classic outerwear with wide-legged grey trousers, Gucci trainers, a Marc Jacobs bag dangling from her wrist, and shades to help her try and go incognito.
The calf-skimming cover-up has been on rotation with her other luxurious, pale outerwear, because one coat is never enough when the paparazzi is keen on capturing you on the streets daily.
Lawrence’s choice of winter footwear has commanded attention of late, too, with her love for The Row’s “Zipped Boot 1” style a declarative sign of a woman with her finger on the fashion pulse. From Bella Hadid to Kendall Jenner, a lug-soled boot has been mandatory both on and off the runway as Dior, Bottega Veneta and Alexander McQueen all incorporated such boots in their seasonal edits.
And then there’s her habit of accentuating her outfits with homegrown brands like Khaite. Case in point: she carried an “Aimee” clutch in caramel suede for a recent outing to the MET.
For Lawrence – who exchanged wedding vows with Maroney at a lavish ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island last year – the shift into effortless Upper East Side style has been seamless.
