One of Fashion’s biggest events of the year the Met Gala, brought together the prevalent names in Fashion, entertainment and all the arts. This year’s event was themed “China: Through the Looking Glass”. The theme celebrates Chinese art, design and culture. Some celebrities at the event may have misinterpreted the theme just a tad, while others were spot on. Here are a few of our favourite picks from the event.
Blonde haired Hollywood beauty Amanda Seyfried stunned in a nude hued halter Givenchy Haute Couture dress with flower cutout detail and center slit.
Queen B never lets us down, she bedazzled the red carpet in a sheer jewel embellished Givenchy dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She also styled her hair in a ponytail updo.
Award winning singer and actress Cher looked elegant in a sequined Marc Jacobs dress.
The Graceful Helen Mirren was fabulous in a red Dolce and Gabbana lace dress with matching red lipstick.
Pop singer Janelle Monae switched from her usual pants to a classy high waist skirt and Chinese style crop top and cape from H & M. The singer kept her signature punk hairdo with a side swept braid.
Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence looked stunning in Dior Haute Couture.
Golden Globe winner Keri Russell took a risk in an Altuzarra feather detail deep V neck dress. She looked fierce with her smokey eyes makeup and nude lips. She paired her dress with gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.
Kim Kardashian – West
Kim Kay never disappoints when it comes to fashion. The controversial reality TV Star and actress showed off her curves as usual plus more in a white crystal embellished sheer Roberto Cavalli dress and Lorraine Schwartz earrings. She kept her makeup plain and her hair swept back in a ponytail.
Taraji P Henson
“Empire” star Taraji Henson looked effortlessly chic in a silver and black boob tube dress by Balenciaga; she completed her look with a pair of spiral chandelier earrings.
Chinese-born American businesswoman Wendi Murdoch pulled off the cutout trend fabulously. She was effortlessly glam in an Oscar de la Renta dress and Cindy Chao jewelry.
