Popular Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi has acknowledged that she was first afraid when her husband, Bankole Wellington, better known as Banky W, stated his ambition to go into politics.

Adesua acknowledged in a recent interview with Hip TV that she was alarmed and concerned by Banky’s declaration.

She later decided to back him, though, because she thinks that purpose is more significant than fear.

Adesua shared her early concerns and apprehensions regarding Banky’s plan to get into politics. She emphasised, nevertheless, that she thought it was crucial to fulfil one’s mission and that he had her complete support.

She said,

“When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.

But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”

Recall that on November 11, 2018, Banky declared his desire to run on the Modern Democratic Party’s platform for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat.

In the 2023 elections, he ran for the same seat as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but regrettably Attah Thaddeus of the Labour Party (LP) defeated him.
