“I love how the genre is blossoming” – Chris Brown speaks on Afrobeat music

Chris Brown, an American R&B singer, has admitted that when he is not playing his own songs, he listens to Nigerian afrobeats music.

This information was revealed by the ‘Under The Influence’ singer in a recent Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast.

He asserted that the genre deserved all the recognition from around the world.

He said;

“If I’m not playing my music, I play Afrobeats. I love how the genre is blossoming and all the recognitions is dope.

“I have been listening to [afrobeats] for a while. Me and Wiz [Wizkid] we got like an afrobeats-type song on my album [Breezy].”

Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay are just a few of the Nigerian afrobeats artists that Chris Brown has collaborated with.

At the Headies Awards, a Nigerian music award ceremony, he was named Best International Act.
