I came to pay homage – Portable says ahead of Christmas show at Fela’s shrine

Habeeb Okikiola, a.k.a. Portable, a controversial Nigerian singer and songwriter, paid a visit to the ancestral home of Afrobeat musician Fela Anikulapo, ahead of his December show at the Afrika Shrine, glamsquad reports.

Portable, who revealed the news in an Instagram post accompanied by a video clip, described his visit as an homage.

 

“Came to pay homage to my daddy, December 28 Portable in live concert, come and enjoy what is known as entertainment,” he said. One million Akoi fans, see you soon @femiakuti, @yeniakuti.”

Portable, who met Femi Kuti, the first son of the genre’s pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, during his visit, was later seen with veteran media personality Yeni Kuti, the eldest daughter of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo.

The outspoken Nigerian singer is one of Nigeria’s most consistent entertainers.
