The creative head of premium women wear brand, Divalukky; Anita Chialuka Ebelebike has created a whimsical collection, an ode to Lord Byron poem “She Walks in Beauty”. The poem as the primary inspiration for the collection is apt because it focused on female beauty while analyzing the existence of any romantic harmony between inner goodness and aesthetic perfection.
To the creative director, this project was a personal catharsis as she had to take a nostalgic trip to the moment she fell in love with fashion and explore themes in art, including poems, while portraying her flair for the romantic movement.
She draws from the fusion of expression of how the society celebrates the investigation of beauty within the modern culture while utilizing a colour selection that employs the poem’s exploration of opposing forces – darkness and light which represents the juxtaposition of cool and warm tones pieces presented in the collection.
