Ariana Grande is said to be giving Wicked co-star turned boyfriend Ethan Slater “space” following his divorce from ex-wife Lilly Jay.
According to TMZ, the pop star, 30, is heading to Los Angeles as the SAG-AFTRA strike continues, halting film production, while Ethan is going to New York City to “work out” his split from Lilly. Ethan’s divorce from high school sweetheart Lilly is made all the more complicated by the fact that the two have a 1-year-old son together, which means a custody arrangement will be part of the divorce proceedings.
Ariana and Ethan are “100% still dating” and “want to see each other,” according to the outlet, but that won’t happen for a while due to the bi-coastal distance. It was also reported that Ethan and Lilly are “talking daily” about the best plan for their baby son’s future but continue to feel “betrayed” and “heartbroken” by Ariana and Ethan’s relationship.

Lilly Jay also broke her silence about her break-up and the surrounding headlines ahead of the new report. “It’s really [Ariana’s] story. “Not a girl’s girl,” she said bluntly to Page Six on July 26 as she spoke out for the first time. “My family is merely collateral damage…”The story is about her and Dalton,” she added in a brief but ultimately telling comment about her feelings on the subject.
Ariana has also reportedly been estranged from her 27-year-old husband Dalton Gomez since January 2023. The “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” singer married the realtor in 2021 after falling in love shortly before COVID-19. The two reportedly tried to work out their differences while Ariana was filming the Wicked film adaptation, but they eventually decided to split up weeks ago. Ariana and Dalton have no children and are said to have a pre-nuptial agreement in place to protect both his real-estate assets and her estimated $240 million estate.
