Apple’s AirPods are lightweight and small. Despite its convenience, it is very easy to become disoriented.
Apple is addressing this issue by releasing iOS 15 and introducing the new Notify When Left Behind function, which alerts you when you are missing your AirPods.
Apple’s AirPod Feature in iOS 15
According to CNET, if you use the Notify When Left Behind feature, your iPhone will immediately notify you if you leave a location without your AirPods.
You may even instruct your phone not to inform you if you leave your AirPods at home. If you disable the feature, you will not receive an alert every time you leave your residence.
This function is quite helpful, especially if you are concerned about leaving your AirPods in strange locations. According to MacObserver, you may enable the setting for AirTags and other Apple products in addition to AirPods.
How to Configure the Feature
To begin, make sure your iPhone is running iOS 15 software. You must launch the Settings app, navigate to the General tab, and then pick Software Update. Then, on your phone, go to the Find My App option.
You should see a Devices tab with a list of the products you’ve linked to your Apple ID. Locate and tap your AirPods in the list.
Navigate to Notifications and turn on the Notify When Left Behind function. To begin using the feature, ensure that it is turned on.
You can also choose not to be notified if you leave your AirPods in specified locations, like as your house. Your home address may be listed, but you can add it if necessary by tapping on the New Location option.
When you activate it, when you leave your AirPods in a location that has not been designated as an exception in the app, you will receive an alert that will take you to the Find My App feature.
New iOS 15 Features
According to Apple, the iOS 15 upgrade allows you to share experiences using SharePlay when chatting with others on FaceTime.
This includes listening to tunes with friends on Apple Music and watching movies on Apple TV+ and other streaming platforms. To view the apps together, you can sync them and share them on the screen.
SharePlay is compatible with the iPad, iPhone, and Mac. It also includes shared playback controls, allowing everyone in a SharePlay session to play, skip ahead, or pause the apps.
You may use SharePlay on Apple TV to watch your favorite movies or TV series on a much larger screen. SharePlay integrates platforms such as HBO Max, Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, MasterClass, Pluto TV, Paramount+, Twitch, and TikTok.
You may also use the Focus function, which filters notifications and apps according on your preferences. Your phone can be configured such that the Focus feature is personalized, allowing you to choose which apps can inform you.
The iOS 15 software also has a function that alerts you if an app collects a large amount of data from your device.
Find My iPhone in iOS 15 has been updated, and it now works even when it is switched off.
