ABC’s NEW COMEDY SERIES UNCLE BUCK WON’T RETURN

A first season of a comedy series “Uncle Buck”   kicked off on June 14, 2016 and its debut garnered 4.97 million viewers. Obviously, numerous fans of the sitcom want to know, should we expect “Uncle Buck” season 2 on ABC or not? Let’s take a look at the figures in order to count up the odds on renewal.

Primarily, it’s worth mentioning that the comedy series has received an extremely negative reaction from critics and viewers. However, the television ratings seem to us quite favorable, nonetheless. At the moment, according to IMDB, “Uncle Buck” has a score of 4.9 out of 10 based on over 380 user votes, 3 reviews from viewers, and 3 reviews from critics. Meanwhile, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the first season of the comedy series has an average score of 4.3 out of 10 and 32% approval rating based on 19 reviews from critics, whereas the audience rating based on 18 reviews. At the same time, according to Metacritic, “Uncle Buck” has an extremely low score of 1.8 out of 10 based on 28 user ratings, while critics rated the comedy series at 37 out of 100 based on 15 reviews. The pilot has drawn 4.96 million viewers, whereas subsequent episodes have attracted 4.96, 3.47, 3.65 and 4.65 million viewers, respectively.

Inspired by the 1989 eponymous film, “Uncle Buck” follows an irresponsible man who serves as a nanny for his nieces and nephew. The TV series is created by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley, who also acted as executive producers.
