Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, often known as Asake, received Best African Artist of the Year at the 2024 MOBO Awards on Wednesday night in Sheffield, United Kingdom.

The ‘Mr Money’ singer battled his compatriots Davido, Ayra Starr, Rema, Grammy-winning South African artist Tyla, and others to win the title.
Asake joins 2Baba, D’Banj, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as Nigerians who have won Best African Act at the MOBO Awards.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian singer, Limoblaze won the Best Gospel Act at the award ceremony.
Similarly, British-Nigerian rapper, Tunde won the Best New Artist award.
British rapper, Central Cee topped the winners’ chart with two awards: Best Male Act and Song of the Year for ‘Sprinter’ with British-Nigerian rapper, Dave.
Drake and 21 Savage were the joint winners of the Best International Act award while Soul II Soul was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award
