His label “Skorzch” a bespoke menswear brand, aims to make designs that are “second skin” like for men. He believes that suits are timeless and a real man deserves a well-tailored suit.

Zano’s journey to celebration like many others was unexpected and unplanned. With a dream and determination he left his family in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and moved to Johannesburg where he got a job that he was later relieved of, for being too “Venturesome and opportunistic” and creative. This prompted him back to his goals and helped Zano focus on learning about fashion and bringing his dream from infant to reality.

Zano Sithetho prides himself on being his brand, “Everything that leaves the Skorzch studio is marked with ingenuity, passion, precision and structural nuances that are unique and tangible to the Skorzch brand. When one wears a tailored Skorzch suit they form part of my story, they form part of a tailor’s tale”.

Following his win at the Renault New Talent Search in 2012, Zano moved head on to be the first winner of the Nokia SA Youth Design competition. It is surprising to know his dedication in following up on the platform awarded to him two years ago and how much he has built for himself as a brand and a tailor.

He strives for quality over quantity which is the principle of bespoke tailoring. Zano’s drive is inspiring and his dedication to his craft unquivering making him a truly Inspiring African. Zano also prides himself in being real but attributes some of his motivation to designers like Oswald Boateng noting he does not often look beyond himself for inspiration to avoid echoing others, which allows him create designs unique to the Skorzch Man, who according to Zano is not a fashionable man.

“The Skorzch man loves style, but he is not into fashion. He doesn’t have to be rich; he just has that mentality of aspiring to be something greater than him. Then there’s the established guy, who is looking for that look of elegance, which is timeless and that he can pass down to his son. He respects himself and the way he dresses. A man with a sense of pride and maturity.”- Zano Sithetho, Creative Director, Skorzch
