US Rapper, Megan Thee Stallion testifies in rapper and former boyfriend, Tory Lanez’s trial on criminal shooting charges

On Tuesday, US rapper Megan Thee Stallion testified in the criminal shooting case against rapper and ex-boyfriend Tory Lanez. She vividly described the traumatic night in 2020 when she claimed Lanez verbally abused her and shot her in the foot, glamsquad reports.

On Tuesday, December 13, Stallion arrived at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles wearing a purple power suit for her first day of testimony. She was asked about why she had lied to police about the cause of her wounds, which is at the heart of the case.

In 2020, Lanez was accused of assault with a semiautomatic weapon, possessing a firearm for personal use, and keeping a loaded, unregistered weapon in a moving vehicle by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

According to Megan Thee Stallion, she initially made up the story that she wasn’t shot by her ex-boyfriend Tory Lanez.

Last Monday, Lanez, who acknowledged having sex with Megan, was also charged with a new offense—grossly negligent use of a firearm—in connection with the altercation. If convicted, he may spend up to 22 years in prison.

Lanez, who attended court on Tuesday with his son, avoided looking Megan’s way during the hearing. Daystar Peterson, the rapper’s real name, has denied shooting Megan and entered a not guilty plea.

With signs endorsing the “Savage” rapper, dozens of Megan’s followers surrounded the criminal court’s courtyard and entrance.

Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said that Lanez and Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, had a fight the night of the shooting during the prosecution’s opening comments. Bott claimed Lanez yelled, “Dance, Bitch!” as he shot Megan in the feet from a moving vehicle.

Megan acknowledged on the witness stand on Tuesday that she immediately after the incident lied to the police, telling them she walked on glass rather than that she had been shot in the foot. She claimed that by the time she was in the ambulance and had spoken with the police, it was pointless to modify her account of stepping on glass since “people don’t trust women.”

The “big boy’s club” music industry, according to Megan, is the reason she initially told the police lies.

Megan targeted Lanez in the opening track of her album “Good News” from November 2020, “Shots Fired.” She talked about someone “lyin’ ’bout shootin’ a genuine bitch / Just to save face” with rappers “you hang with” over a sample from The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?”

Lanez released a surprise album titled “DAYSTAR” on September 25, 2020, in which he dissed Megan and alleged on the song “Money Over Fallouts” that “Megan people tryna frame me for a shootin’.”
