US rapper Grand Daddy I.U. dies at 54

Grand Daddy I.U., a hip-hop artist who rose to fame in the 1990s, has passed away at the age of 54, glamsquad reports.

The debut album by the New York rapper, Smooth Assassin, was released under Biz Markie’s Cold Chillin’ Records imprint.

 

The rapper’s agent, Raya, also made an appearance on Instagram to discuss his passing.

“No, I’m not fine. She expressed her devastation in one of several posts that were posted on social media.

 

She said cryptically, “Anyone who really knows me understands how much genuine love and respect I have for him and I’m being quiet right now out of respect for him and his family.”

 

“I don’t need to provide any anecdotes or photographs to declare what I believe. I pray for a calm and simple transition,” she added.
