US church pays tribute to late singer, Mohbad in Christmas celebration

Late Nigerian singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba better known as Mohbad, has been honored again in the United States of America. 

In celebration of Christmas, a church in US honoured late Mohbad by creating a statue-like portrait of him resembling Father Christmas.

Despite the controversies surrounding his death, Netizens noted how the talented late singer’s spirit continues to live on.

Church in US honors Mohbad

Glamsqaud recalls that in October during Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration,  Mohbad was honoured in New York.

Ambassador Lot Egogipa, the Consul General of Nigeria in New York, shared this information in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in New York. During the interview, he advised Nigerians residing in the U.S. to maintain hope for the future of the country and its leadership.

The revelation sparked dissatisfaction among many, who pointed out the lack of attention given to the singer when he pleaded for help before his unfortunate passing.

Following his demise, Mohbad’s popularity has surged, drawing attention even from American hip-hop rappers such as Meek Mill, Kodak Black and Lil Durk paying tribute to him.

Mohbad died on 12 September 2023 most controversially. While many celebrities continue to clamour for justice for the late singer, his wife, Wunmi who is the mother of Mohbad’s eight-month-old son, Liam has continued to receive threats and criticisms.
