Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi better known as Terry G has called out his colleague, Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon better known as Timaya over alleged unpaid royalties.
Taking to his Instagram page, Terry G stated that he had been contemplating revealing the issue, particularly after listening to podcasts where musicians discuss their struggles with unpaid royalties.
He emphasized that when he decides to speak up, the metaphorical “table will be used for firewood,” indicating his intention to do so boldly and decisively.
Terry G has firmly expressed his desire for Timaya and other musicians to pay him the 50% producer publishing royalties he believes he is owed.
He used his own experience as an example of how excellence is often exploited and then disregarded. The seasoned singer and producer lamented the treatment he claims to have received from other producers.
He wrote;
“Looking at all the podcasts and disclosure artists speaking up, the day I go talk on my own, the table will be used for firewood. If you know I produced this song for you,
“I need my 50% producer publishing royalties from Himaya and others. But all the producers out there use me as an example of how they use and dump greatness. But still, I rise.”
