Babcock university organized its 3rd inaugural lecture at the university premises Ilishan Remo, Ogun State recently.
The lecture themed ” Food for thought and thoughts in food: Conceptual genius of local ingredients in genius of local ingredients in global diets and food habits of African population” had academicians in various part of the educational sector such as Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Kayode Makinde, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Oyeleke Owolabi in attendance.
In her short speech, Professor of Nutritional education and Dietetics department, Professor Makinde stressed the need for government to include nutrition education in Nigerian schools curriculum. “The curriculum should be modified to help in cultivating healthy lifestyle, especially apetite and food habits”.
She also said that , “Good nutrition and food habits impact positively on intelligence, academic performance of students”.
