Wunmi, the widowed wife of late singer, Mohbad has addressed Nigerians over a DNA test for her son, Liam.

Following the passing of Mohbad on 12th September 2023 and the circumstances surrounding his death, many have been clamouring for a DNA test to be done on Liam, his son to ascertain his paternity.

Interestingly, Mr Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father is demanding a DNA test for his only grandson.

In response to these demands, Wunmi took a firm stance. Considering her current financial difficulties and the task of raising Liam by herself, she emphasized that those advocating for a DNA test should be willing to cover the costs. Just two days ago, she even instructed her father-in-law to obtain a court order for the DNA test.

In a new development, the mother of one has reversed her decision and stated that she will not pursue a DNA test for her son. She cited her virginity when she met Mohbad and asserted that he was the one who took her virginity. She further asserted that he was the only man who had seen her naked, thus she sees no need for paternity testing for her son.

Wunmi additionally expressed that nobody has the authority to compel her to undergo the test. She emphasized that she is determined to ensure her son doesn’t face the same fate as his father.

She said

“Mohbad was my husband till deáth. He put a ring on my finger and he deflowered me. He was the only man that ever saw my nakédness. I am the mother of my son. None of you have the right to tell me to do DNA except I wish to. You all are mad. Liam will never be a victim like his father, he will be a victor. I don’t have any money to give bloggers but genuine fãthers and mothers are supporting me”.
