“Madam, Step Up Your Game, Funke Akindele Made N630million” – Toyin Abraham Lambasted After Boasting Of N130million Profit.
The ongoing exchange of words between Toyin Abraham and her fans on Instagram is far from coming to an end as she has now being attacked over her claims of making N130million during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was reported that the drama started moments ago after a popular movie critic on Instagram, Cinema Pointer described the newly released ‘Prophetess movie’ where Toyin Abraham plays the lead role, as thrash, “Not Recommended. Chaotic and noisy, ‘The Prophetess’ is One Hundred and Forty Four minutes of nonsense.”
Responding, Toyin Abraham queried the critic for always talking her down her movies.
“I can bet my life that you’re someone in the industry that does not like me cause I’m doing great and you cannot stop me.
Any movie I act in or produce, you always trash it. I’m sure you thought I produced prophetess but no I didn’t produce, I only acted in it. I have my audience and market, I keep feeding them”
She further boasted of making over N130million during he pandemic despite how the critic talked down her ‘Fate of Alakada’ movie last year.
“My darling, making 130 million during the pandemic and end sars is not a joke and being number one on Netflix for weeks is not a fluke.”
Responding to the comment, a very angry fan wrote “but that Fate of whatever, the party planner on Netflix is Pure unadulterated RUBBISH , like a total bad joke! I haven’t seen this , and I really pray CP is wrong !
And stop saying you know your audience , make comedy that is sensible ! You made 130m , Funke made 630m from the same comedy !
Genevieve made 3.5m dollars from the same comedy(lion heart) step up your game ma’am ? You have the talent , look for good script writers and produce something worthy”
It can be recalled that Yvonne Jegede recently slammed her colleagues in the movie industry over how films are churned into Nigerian cinemas.
In a post shared on the microblogging platform, the actress said movie producers are now always in haste to shoot and release films, which may be detrimental to the entertainment industry.
The actress further said that considering how movies are released and taken to the cinema, Nigerian cinema might soon turn to the YouTube platform.
Yvonne Jegede tweeted: “Today they are on set shooting, and next minute they have a cinema date, next tomorrow the movie don enter cinema. Them go soon turn Nigerian cinema to YouTube”. “Anything you say they tag you jealous. Face with tears of joy this is a way to make people not say the truth about anything. I beg make una shift with una guilty conscience”.
Reacting to the tweet, many social media users alleged Yvonne Jegede was throwing shade at Toyin Abraham who has been churning out movies anyhow lately.
