Mary Njoku queried:
“Dear celebrities What happens when Stardom ends? Remember No one stays at the top forever. What happens when your celebrity status expires? Do you have a REAL life to fall back to? Or you have ‘burnt down’ your REAL life.”
The entertainment industry has witnessed trends where popular actors or musicians who are past their prime come online to solicit funds to pay medical bills. Some end up in abject poverty and are spotted living with people in ghettos, despite commanding popularity in the past.
These celebrities sometimes end up dying of depression or other forms of mental and physical suffering they are exposed to after stardom.
Mary Njoku’s advice is not out of place. Celebrities need to start thinking about their future. Stardom doesn’t last forever; one must give way for another to become a star. It is important that they make use of their time to plan ahead.
