The demise of Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the founder of the African Movie Academy Awards has hit Nollywood with a big shock.
Reacting to the news, actress and Rock TV boss, Mary Remmy Njoku took to her Instagram page to pen a note about death.
The mother of three noted that life is very short and death is the only thing promised.
She assured that Peace Anyiam-Osigwe will be celebrated for her achievements and prayed for her soul to rest we well. She wrote:
Life is short. VERY short. The problem is we think we have time. We don’t.
Nothing in life is promised except DEATH. We all die. So the goal is to create something that wouldn’t. And you did. You will be celebrated. Rest in PEACE.
Yul Edochie mourns Peace Anyiam-Osigwe
Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie also took to his Instagram page to mourn the last movie producer.
The father of five who has since gone controversial over his second marriage revealed that he had a phone conversation with Peace weeks ago. He claimed that she told him the plans she had for Nollywood in 2023 and commended him for his work.
He wrote:
“Life is so uncertain. Just few weeks ago I had a phone conversation with her where she told me the plans she had for Nollywood in 2023 and commended me for my work. Today she’s gone.
Rest well Madam Peace Anyiam-Osigwe. May God grant your family the strength to bear the loss”.
Joke Silver mourns Peace Anyiam-Osigwe
Nollywood veteran actress, Joke Silva joined her colleagues to mourn the entertainment executive.
On her Instagram page, joke Silva highlighted the unfortunate start to the year marked by multiple deaths.
Expressing her grief, she mentioned that Peace had been bravely fighting for her life before passing away. She also shared her condolences and prayers for Peace’s family.
She wrote:
“2023…you have started! Rest dear aburo. You tried. May the Lord strengthen your family to bear this irreplaceable loss. Greet Amaka. Igwe. Chai….death you are bloody rude. R.I.P. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe”.
Funny Bone mourns to Peace Anyiam-Osigwe
Comedian, Stanley Chibuna better known as Funny Bone also reacted to Peace Anyiam-Osigwe’s death.
Sharing a picture of the deceased, Funny Bone wrote:

Peace Anyiam-Osigwe’s passing
Glamsquad reported that Peace Anyiam-Osigwe passed away at the St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, on Monday, January 9, after a brief illness.
Her family went on to release an official statement to confirm her passing.
For a life well spent making impacts on human existence, her family appreciated her as an epitome of creative transcendence.
Describing her as a trailblazer, titan, and pathfinder, they said
“We believe you are alive in the life of God because as our father said, “ALL IS LIFE AND LIFE ALONE”.
