In his debut season with Pep Guardiola’s squad, the 23-year-old Norwegian attacker scored 52 goals in all competitions.

Last season, he also helped City win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Haaland won the prize ahead of teammates Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones, Arsenal’s Saka and Martin Odegaard, and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who is now at Bayern Munich.

Haaland joined City from Borussia Dortmund in a £51.2 million deal in June 2022.

He was also nominated for the Young Player of the Year award, which went to England winger Saka after he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in his best season for Arsenal.

The 21-year-old defeated fellow nominees Moises Caicedo, who just joined Chelsea from Brighton, Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa, Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal, and Evan Ferguson of Brighton.
