This was stated by the 64-year-old cleric during an interview with BBC Pidgin. According to him, Jesus told him that the issue of marriage was no longer an issue for him.

“I’m not marrying again because Jesus has already told me that one is over.” I was in university when I was saved, when I became a new creation. I didn’t understand God’s will for my life.

I referred to you as Paul. I tried to stop you at the time, but you were deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly I want you to live a life dedicated to me and the work I’ve assigned you. So marriage is never on the table again,” he said.

Okotie stated that God called him to be celibate, similar to Apostle Paul in the Bible, but he did not realize it until he was older.
