Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, has said his journey as a musician is just about to begin.

Wizkid disclosed this during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra.

According to the ‘Ginger’ crooner, despite his accolades, streaming numbers, and chart successes, he feels he hasn’t achieved any significant milestones in the music industry. He also stated that his passion for music is beyond taking breaks as the flame burns in him while he lives.

In the interview, he said,

“The journey is about to begin for Wizkid. I don’t see myself as someone who has achieved something major yet. For me, music is a forever thing.”

Viewing Wizkid’s success, he stands as one of Africa’s most financially successful artists and holds the record for the highest number of awards received by an artist on the continent.

He also holds the distinction of being Sub-Saharan Africa’s most streamed artist across various platforms and ranks as the second most followed Nigerian musician on social media, after Davido.
