American rapper, Cardi B has confirmed that she and her husband, Offset are separated.
In a live video, Cardi B stated that she has been single for a while now but has been trying to decide when to tell her 169 million followers on Instagram. She mentioned that she had considered sharing this during a previous live video but ultimately chose not to.
The mother of two said,
“I don’t know if y’all have been getting clues from me from my live, I mean… or from my Instagram Stories, where I put certain music.
“When it comes to events and stuff, I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out because I have been single for a minute now. But I have been afraid to like… not afraid but I just don’t know how to tell the world. I feel like today has been like a sign.
“The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind. But this has been for a minute now and I just feel like this is a sign. So, I wanna start 2024 afresh… open. I am curious for a new life, for a new beginning. Yeah, I am excited.”
The revelation about her status came hours after rapper Blueface accused her husband, Offset, of sleeping with his baby mama, Chrisean Rock.
However, Offset refuted the accusations. He said that he has never spoken to or had any physical contact with Blueface’s baby mama.
Recall that a few days ago, Cardi B and Offset unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Cardi posted cryptic messages on her Instagram story, suggesting a shift in her feelings and priorities. One message mentioned outgrowing relationships, while another expressed a fatigue in prioritizing others’ feelings over her own.
The marital crisis occurred within two months of Offset gifting Cardi B luxury bags worth nearly a million dollars for her 31st birthday and less than three months after he presented her with an extravagant floral arrangement for their wedding anniversary.
The couple, who tied the knot in September 2017 and have two children, faced ongoing challenges in their marriage, including allegations of infidelity against Offset.
This isn’t the first time the couple has parted ways. Back in January 2018, about two months after Offset officially proposed to Cardi following their initial quick wedding, scandal surrounded him as videos surfaced depicting the rapper in bed with multiple women.
They briefly separated in 2018, but Cardi B forgave him after he publicly apologized on stage during one of her performances.
