Glamsquad recalls that in 2022 it was alleged that Genevieve had been hospitalized due to a mental health crisis.

Anonymous blogger, Gistlover, asserted that the actress was suffering from mental health challenges and had undergone treatment in Houston, Texas. Sil Fenesse, a nurse based in the United States, substantiated this claim, who provided further details about her hospitalization.

Nevertheless, Genevieve refuted the reports by sharing a video on her Instagram story of herself painting, though many remained skeptical of her denial.

In July 2023, she broke her silence with a charming selfie on Instagram, marking her first public statement. Additionally, she celebrated her 44th birthday by returning to Instagram, sharing a heartwarming video surrounded by loved ones, and celebrating the occasion with a festive cake.

In September Genevieve graced the 2023 Toronto Film Festival in Canada with a public appearance, where she proudly debuted her forthcoming movie, “I Do Not Come To You By Chance.”

After her unexpected appearance, Genevieve shared photos from the festival, prompting an outpouring of sweet words from celebrities in her comment section.
