Singer Adekunle Gold has lavished praise on the legendary musician, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, as his debut solo album, ‘Face2Face’, reaches its 20th anniversary.
Adekunle Gold emphasized that the project is “undeniably the blueprint for Afrobeats,” highlighting how the timeless artistry and influence of the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker continue to inspire generations of musicians.

Adekunle Gold shared the album cover on his X hande and wrote;

‘Face2Face’, released on May 15, 2003, marked 2Baba’s solo debut following his departure from the boy band Plantashun Boiz.
The album, released under Kennis Music, had hit singles like ‘Nfana Ibaga’ and ‘African Queen’, which broke boundaries in the Nigerian and African music scenes.
‘Face2Face’ is widely regarded by music enthusiasts as the benchmark for debut albums in Afrobeats.
