Emmanuel Benjamin is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and singer professionally known as Eben. He was born on September 9, 1979 and is one of Nigeria’s most popular, wealthy and influential gospel singers. He won the LIMA Award in 2020 and Composer of the Year Award.
Before his fame, Singer Eben was a backing vocalist. And in 1997, he appeared as a gospel singer in the choir of the Embassy of Christ. He became popular after his first public appearance at a conference hosted by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
CAREER
Eben started his rap career in 1997 and was mentored by his older brother. Later, he discovered his talent for singing and became a gospel singer.
In 2006, Eben joined Christ Embassy as a member, the church was founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. In 2007 his debut album On the Rock was produced, which comprised songs that contained Imaranma, God Dey, Iwo Nikan, I Don Hammer and other beautiful songs.
In 2010, a follow-up album, Phenomenon, was released, including songs such as Imela Papa, Siya Nma, Supper Man and several other tracks. In 2013, Eben released another album, Justified, which featured songs such as You Alone Are Worthy, Onye Nwem, How I Love You, For Ever and All The Way. Another album titled Magnified was also released, featuring songs such as Stayed On You, Everything, Idi Nm, Lifted Hands and other cult songs.
His name went viral after releasing a song called Victory. Eben performed a live show in 2019, the show was called Joyful Noise 2019 and took place in September 15, 2019. The show featured the best gospel musicians as well as popular American musicians like Bob Fitts and Phil Thompson.
