The two Nollywood stars Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornell’s captors are apparently making fun of the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, over the amount of ransom that has so far been collected.
When he informed the kidnappers that N1.2 million had been raised as opposed to the $100,000 wanted on Monday, August 1, they made fun of him.
According to Rollas, the kidnappers demanded that other Nollywood celebrities chip in toward the $100,000 ransom.
He said, “This is to brief you about the happenings over five days now on our two colleagues abducted a few days back. The situation still remains the same but we are believing God to do His miracles and wonders at this point in time.
Yesterday, while talking to the abductors, we were trying to explain to them that we were putting some funds together, we were contributing. We said that we had about N1.2 million. And they started laughing at us.
It would be recalled that Yvonne Jegede had said that the ugly incidence is really a scary situation. She also confirmed that no statement has been made by the Nigerian police or any government official.
“This is actually scary to be honest. God help us. The insecurity in this country is a complete mess, and till now no statement from the police or government addressing this issue. As I type this I have shivers down my spine. I just pray Nigeria doesn’t happen to us,” she wrote.
