Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa has issued a strong warning to Aduke Omotayo, the wife of her colleague, Femi Adebayo.
The entire controversy originated from Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds on Sunday 24th March 2024. Controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky was crowned the Best Dressed Female leading Dayo Amusa to critique the event’s organizers.
Through her Instagram page, Dayo voiced her discontent with the disrespect shown towards the female attendees at the premiere. The actress criticized the judges and organizers, asserting that it was inappropriate to name a crossdresser as the best-dressed female. She argued that they should have established a separate category to recognize crossdressers instead.
Responding on her Instagram page, Aduke criticized netizens for attempting to undermine her husband because he was the one presenting the award to Bobrisky. She questioned the logic behind blaming the presenter of an award for the recipient’s selection.
Aduke further questioned the reasoning of trolls and condemned his colleagues who masquerade as friends for publicly criticizing him instead of reaching out to him privately.
In praise of her husband, she highlighted his hardworking nature, emphasizing that anyone attempting to undermine him is unjust. She concluded by expressing her hope for karma to address those who harbour ill will towards him.
She wrote
“You all are quick to bring people down. How does the person who presents an award be blamed for it? So if AMVCA gives an award to someone you believe is not deserving, you blame the presenter of the award and not the AMVCA or judges? Where are your brains? Well I don’t blame you all, I blame the so-called colleagues (enemies disguised as friends) who find it easier to publicly call you out at every opportunity rather than putting a call through to you. Femi is damn too hardworking and supportive! Madam, karma will visit you soon! Because you know Femi was only asked to present!
Your call out was definitely intentional and hypocritical”.
Reacting to the post, Dayo expressed her understanding of Aduke defending her husband but criticized the use of banter, suggesting it reflected a lack of depth in her response.
The mother of one emphasized the importance of the actor taking accountability for his actions and fulfilling what is necessary. She assured Aduke that she wasn’t a hidden adversary and declared her stance against hypocrisy.
She wrote;
“It’s cool to want to defend your own ALADUKE! I respect you for that but throwing Banta only shows how shallow-minded you are.
He has to own up to it, take responsibility for his actions, and do the needful.
No one is an enemy in disguise. Hypocrisy doesn’t exist here. I said all I said and I stand firmly on it. Don’t push this too far”.
Aduke fired back, questioning the extent of damage Dayo could inflict.
“You said I shouldn’t push this too far? What damage are you possibly capable of doing after? A butterfly thinks itself a bird”.
