Chanel Official Dakar PreFall 2023 Collection are everything we expected and more as the collection left its faithful customers drooling over the new found designs.

For Chanel’s first-ever presentation in Africa, 800 guests were invited, including celebrities Pharrell Williams, Naomi Campbell, and Tobe Nwigwe. Virginie Viard debuted her Metiers d’Art line in Dakar, Senegal, and it featured redesigned tweeds in colors reminiscent of sunsets as well as elaborately beaded jackets, belts, and jewelry.

The decision to present the collection in Dakar, according to Chanel, was “the result of meetings with friends of the House who have lived there, who are carrying out artistic projects there, who are planning to do so, or who are simply interested in its creative effervescence,” as stated in a press release. The company wanted to promote Senegal’s “fashion, movies, dance, literature, modern art, and music.”
