Fashion retailers with more than 250 employees have until 4th April 2018 to submit their gender pay gap reporting information.
Boohoo, Harrods, Matalan, Jigsaw, Mothercare and Adidas are a few of the list of retailers to unveil their gender pay results, following government requirements.
Boohoo’s figures show that its mean hourly rate for women is 5.9% lower than men. The median is the same for both men and women.
At Adidas, the mean hourly rate for women is 18.4% lower than for men, while the median is 2.3% lower.
River Island’s figures show its mean hourly rate for women is 9.7% lower than men, while the median is 17.7% lower.
At Jigsaw the women’s hourly rate is 36% lower than men and the median rate is 17.7% lower.
Gant’s mean hourly rate for women is 20.1% lower than that for men, and the median for women is 11.3% lower.
At Harrods, the mean hourly rate for women is 4.2% lower than men but the median rate for women is 1% higher.
Matalan’s mean hourly rate for women is 13.7% lower and the median is the same as men.
At Mothercare the mean hourly rate for women is 40.6% lower than for men, while the median is 25.3% lower.
Hackett’s mean hourly rate for women is 17.5%, lower while the median is 3% higher.
At Blacks Outdoor Retail, the mean hourly rate for women is 5.9% lower than men while the median is 2.3% lower.
The mean UK gender pay gap is 17.4%, the Office for National Statistics Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings 2017 shows, and the retail average is 16.4%.
