Annie was born in Ibadan, but she is of Akwa Ibom State descent. After her parents divorced, she and her mother relocated to Lagos. She graduated from Lagos State University and the University of Lagos with bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Theatre Arts.

Career
After finishing as runner-up in the “Queen of All Nations Beauty Pageant,” Annie Macaulay–Idibia appeared in a cameo on 2face Idibia’s “African Queen” music video, which launched her acting career.
It was her roles in the Nollywood films Pleasure and Crime and Blackberry Babes that brought her fame in Nigeria.
