Last week, pop stars, P-Square, Wizkid and Sammie Okposo all confirmed their exit from Nigerian telecomunications giant, Globacom as brand ambassadors.
Now, alternative singer, Bez Idakula has also confirmed his exit from GLO.
So far, pundits are blaming the increasing number of deals not being renewed on the prevailing economic recession in Nigeria.
A few months ago, MTN also dumped over 10 stars including Don Jazzy, Kcee, Dr Sid as its ambassadors and till this moment, no rival brand has signed them.
With this trend going on, the big loser, if no alternative revenue source shows up, would be the celebrities, especially musicians who work in an industry lacking a structured monetisation system for most of their work.
