The Slay Gang – AMVCA 2017

Still gushing over this year’s Amvca’s that we no doubt watched with a lot of expectations and we can say our expectations where quiet met, most especially with the fashion, our favourite stars came in their slay suits, giving us one wow after the other.
Loved every piece especially with our top 6 best dressed celebrities but before we talk about their looks let’s see which of our predictions came to pass “Mermaid cuts, volumes, Lots of reds and black, a couple of whites, silver and nudes (if we catch the Oscars fever), Some shiny fabrics, plunge neck lines and high slits, Off shoulders definitely, One or two capes and basically whatever Designers already have on their racks lol.”

Yes most did and that’s really exciting to be able to tell the trend beforehand and be right.

We saw lots of blacks, plum instead of red, volumes, mermaid cuts, plunged necklines, high slits, nudes, shiny fabrics, a few one or two whites and whatever designers already had on their racks.
Asides our top 6, we had a few we could not but love and feel they would have made the list longer or given them a run for their money .

Rita Dominic – she’s always a red carpet fav but this time her outfit was a yes and no. Styled in a Lanre Dasilva Ajayi’s sculptured mono floor length dress. Her dress has a strong resemblance to N Naomi Campbell’s lilac and black pleated mono floor length dress by Versace. Both dresses are beautiful but fabric used on Rita’s was wrong for the style hence why it looked not well pleated and un-ironed.

Kehinde Bankole – she was simply divine in the black ball dress by Jacqui James but looked bland, a more obvious bling around the neck or wrist would have done the look a lot of good.

Beverly   Naya – makeup   and hair was totally 100 but her black ball dress with a gold detailed plunge neck line from Weizdhurm Franklyn no doubt beautiful , but seemed like the dress wore her and it had too much volume on one side .

Eku Edewor – the all-white French themed piece from style temple would have been 100 if it didn’t give her a camel toe and fitted better on the waist.

Toyin Abraham – stunning dress, but wrong fabric choice.

Now to our best looks for the night and in this particular order. This looks have been chosen based on the style, fit, hair, make-up and how they have accessorized.

Toni Tones in Yemi Oshiyemi. Less they say is more but this time less came with volumes.

Nana Akua Aado   in leo Almodal: whats not to love in her look, colour, details and how she graced the red carpet with that dose of gorgeousness giving brides to be ideas. All that was left was a tiara, a full smile and a wave.

Somkele Iyamah in Andrea Iyamah
She gave us a little twist around the neckline, loved the class and elegance that came with her look.
Indima Okojie in fablane by Derin.  She had one mission only and it was to slay and have us drool.

Adesuwa Etomi – Mai Atafo styled by the style infidel- petal appliqué, on a subtle and sultry look.

Ivie Okujaye- Dzynbabe styled by Seun Olopade – she just stayed effortless and chic. Love the color on her, wearing orange is usually a risk, detailing with black was definitely a smart choice (off cause black is the best go to). But this yummy mummy worked this look.
