Sophia Momodu, the first baby mama of Afrobeats singer, Davido has recounted the day her mentality changed as a single parent.
Taking to her Snapchat account, where she is more active, Sophia stated that today marks one year since her world felt like it was falling apart.
She revealed that her only child, became extremely ill, requiring her to rush them to the hospital at 1:00 am.
In a state of panic, she reached out to Savo, who was recording Stamina that night, and he arrived in less than 10 minutes. She also contacted actress and DJ Dorcas Fapson, along with others, and they rushed to her side within minutes.
She noted how she realized the strength of her support system, with Savo continually reminding her she wasn’t alone and urging her to breathe. Her family and more friends arrived, filling the hospital room.
Sophia emphasized that the events of that night permanently shifted her perspective as a single parent. She now understands that parenting requires a community, and she believes that divine intervention is at work in her life.
She wrote;
“1 year ago today my whole world felt like it was crumbling around me. My child was so sick. At 1amshe needed to be rushed to the hospital. In my panic state, I called Savo she was recording Stamina that night, and she showed up in less than 10 minutes.
“Rushed us to the hospital. She just kept saying”Breathe”, I am here. I made is fine. You’re not alone” Hmmm that day I realized just how powerful my support system was. Rima showed up in 5mins. DSF showed up 30 minutes after we got to the hospital followed by Kanayo, then my family. The hospital was packed. This night changed my mentality as a single parent forever. 2 things: 1, it truly takes a village 2, God don’t play about his own”.
Sophia’s assertion of being a single parent isn’t unexpected, especially considering her public fallout with Davido in 2022. During this time, she disclosed her intention to remove the Adeleke name from her daughter, stating that she fulfills both parental roles for their child
